Anthony Sabia
Anthony Sabia has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 25 years, focusing on leadership, fundraising, and developing programs.
Anthony served as Executive Director of The Bridge Fund of New York, the largest privately funded eviction prevention program in New York City and Westchester. During his tenure, the budget grew from $2.5 million to $7.5 million, and he led the development of an income growth program for clients. He also worked at Covenant House, where he led a major capital campaign, created more than 100 housing units across six facilities, and raised $10 million in three years. At Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Brooklyn, he co-founded Catholics Building Community, a group focused on community development.
Anthony earned an MPA from New York University and a BA in Political Economy from Fordham University. He is active in his church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Elmsford, NY, where he serves on the Food Pantry Board and as Vice President of the Holy Name Society. He and his wife, Virginia, have three children: Giorgia, Vincent, and Gabrielle.
Mary Theresa McCombe
Mary Theresa McCombe is a founding member of Hearts to Homes where she has served as Executive Director for nearly ten years. The mother of three young adults, she and her husband, John, have supported a variety of charities, including those in the foster care field. Mary Theresa has served on the boards of Iona Prep (New Rochelle), Mercy Center (Bronx), and The AES Crestwood Foundation (Crestwood). A graduate of NYU, a retired CPA with KPMG, and a volunteer fundraiser, she loves to share the story of the wonderful work that Hearts to Homes does. She is now the Outgoing Executive Director, working with Anthony Sabia to ensure a seamless transition as she makes her way to retirement.
Marissa Mugno
Marissa Mugno joined Hearts to Homes in 2022. She is delighted to work with the Hearts to Homes recipients daily and assist as their Hearts to Homes wish lists are fulfilled. Prior to Hearts to Homes, Marissa started her career in the college publishing division at John Wiley & Sons and also worked in educational marketing at Apple. She resides in Westchester County with her husband, their three children and dog. Marissa is an active volunteer with H.O.P.E Kitchen, and served on both the board of The Mothers’ Club of St. Joseph’s School (Bronxville) as well as The Mothers’ Auxiliary at The Ursuline School (New Rochelle).
